Winona-Ryder
Winona Laura Horowitz professionally known her real name as Winona Ryder is a native of Winona Minnesota. The parents of her daughter named her in honor of her hometown. Michel Horowitz was her father as well as Cynthia Palmer, his mother are both authors and editors. Ryder's dad came from the Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. There are two younger half siblings, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder made the move with her family members to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. The family resided in an area without electricity. Ryder was an avid reader who spent all of her time studying books since she was not able to watch TV. Ryder, then 12, was enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in 1983. Her first role was a success on the big screen in the year 1986 when she was 15 years young. Ryder suffered bullying in the school she attended. The hope was that her acting career would end that. However, it didn't happen. The actress continued to chase her goals. Her breakthrough came in 1988 through Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder performed in a number of roles that were successful for numerous films. In 1993, she was nominated twice in the Academy Awards. One of was for her performance in The Age of Innocence.
